- Select the first tab (Courses) and press the plus button at the top right or tap on the "Ad course" button.

- Then select "Create a new course". The "New Course" dialogue opens.

- Type in the field "COURSE NAME" and enter a name for your course, e.g. "My French course", select the language you want to learn (e.g. French) and alternatively you can also assign a level. Then tap on "Save" to save your course.

- The course view will now open. The lessons of the course are displayed here. However, as there are no lessons yet, only the "Add Lesson" button is visible. Tap this to add a new lesson.

- Now enter a name for the lesson in the following dialogue (e.g. "Basic words") and tap on "Ok". The lesson view opens.

- Tap on the "Add phrase" button to add the first phrase. The "New Phrase" dialogue is now displayed.

- Now enter the phrase in the two language input fields. You can also enter this in one language only and use the built-in translator. To do this, tap on the bubble with the "T". You can also listen to how it sounds when the phrase is spoken by tapping on the corresponding play button. Tap on "Save" to save the phrase. If the "New phrase after saving" button is activated, you can enter a new phrase immediately after saving.

- The phrase you have just entered now appears in the list next to the lesson. If you now tap the entry, the phrase will be played.

- Once you have created a lesson, you can export it to share it with others or save it for later use or as a backup. To do this, tap on the menu icon (3 vertical dots) at the top right of the lesson view and select "Export lesson (CSV)" in the menu that opens.

- The system's sharing dialogue opens. Here you can choose whether you want to save the lesson or open it with another application (e.g. mail, news, social networks, etc.).

- To import individual phrases into a lesson, tap on the menu icon (3 vertical dots) in the top right-hand corner of the lesson view and select "Import phrases (CSV)" in the menu that opens.

- The system's file dialogue will open, in which you can select either a lesson or a course in CSV format. Of course, you must have saved the CSV files on your device beforehand.
System file dialogue of iOS - Now select the desired file. A list with all phrases in the file will open. Here you can now select the phrases you want to import. All phrases that are ticked will be imported.

- After you have tapped on "Save", the selected phrases will be imported to the end of your lesson.
- To import a lesson into a course, go to the course view of the desired course and tap the menu icon (3 vertical dots) in the top right corner. Then select "Import lesson (CSV)" from the menu that opens.

- The system's file dialogue will open, in which you can select the lesson in CSV format. Of course, you must have saved the CSV files on your device beforehand.

- To export a course, go to the course view of the desired course and tap the menu icon (3 vertical dots) in the top right corner. Then select "Export course (CSV)" from the menu that opens.

- The system's sharing dialogue opens. Here you can choose whether you want to save the course or open it with another application (e.g. mail, news, social networks, etc.).

- To import an entire course, select the first tab (Courses) and press the plus button at the top right or tap on the "Ad course" button.

- Then select "Import a course". The system's file dialogue will open, in which you can select the course in CSV format. Of course, you must have saved the CSV files on your device beforehand.

To create or edit courses or lessons, you can also use Excel or Numbers on your PC or Mac.
The tables must be structured as follows:
- The phrases of the language to be learnt are to be entered in the first column, the phrases translated into the native language in the second column.

The language/country codes of the desired language must be entered as a heading in the first line. The codes consist of the two-character ISO language code in lower case letters, a minus sign and the two-character ISO country code in upper case letters. Example: en-GB, fr-FR ... Please note that not every language is supported by all systems or must be installed subsequently. The following languages are supported by iOS, for example:
- bg-BG = Bulgarian
- zh-CN = Chinese
- da-DK = Danish
- de-DE = German
- en-GB = English
- fi-FI = Finnish
- fr-FR = French
- el-GR = Greek
- he-IL = Hebrew
- hi-IN = Hindi
- id-ID = Indonesian
- it-IT = Italian
- ja-JP = Japanese
- ca-ES = Catalan
- ko-KR = Korean
- hr-HR = Croatian
- ms-MY = Malay
- nl-NL = Dutch
- nb-NO = Norwegian Bokmål
- pl-PL = Polish
- pt-PT = Portuguese
- ro-RO = Romanian
- ru-RU = Russian
- sv-SE = Swedish
- sk-SK = Slovak
- es-ES = Spanish
- th-TH = Thai
- cs-CZ = Czech
- tr-TR = Turkish

- vi-VN = Vietnamese
- The 3rd column must always contain the name of the lesson in the row with the first word or phrase.
Example:

If you only want to edit or create one lesson, the format is the same as for a course with only one lesson.
It is important that you save the tables as a CSV file, separated by a semicolon (standard for Excel and Numbers). You can then import these files into Speak App as described above.
